We will cover the four corners of the feet and proper alignment in standing yoga poses. Strengthening exercises including small foot will be taught to assist the student in rebuilding healthy arches. Do you worry? Are you anxious? Do you have trouble sleeping? When you wake up in the middle of the night, do your thoughts prevent you from getting back to sleep? Do you find yourself returning over and over again to bothersome thoughts–someone’s unkind word or gesture, a missed opportunity, an innocent mistake? Do you wish you could get rid of negative thoughts?
A mantram (mantra) may be just what you’ve been looking for to give you more peace of mind. The repetition of a mantram can help you calm your mind, be more productive, help others, and enjoy your life. In this workshop, you willl earn what a mantram is, how to choose a mantram, and then when and how to use a mantram. No prior experience in a spiritual tradition is necessary. The use of a mantram is, however,c ompatible with any spiritual tradition.
This workshop will last from 60-90 minutes.
Mary Dugan, RYT, has used a mantram for over 15 years. She learned about mantrams from her spiritual teacher, Sri Eknath Easwaran, fom whom she also learned meditation. Mary attributes her love of yoga to Sri Easwaran, whose teachings she tries to follow everyday.

EXPLORING RELATIONSHIP WITH YOGA

Partner Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy
with JJ Lee, M.Ed.
Six Tuesdays:
March 15 - April 19
7:30 - 9:00 PM
Discover yourself; discover another…
Yoga most often occurs as a solitary pursuit. Even in a classroom situation, the focus is on one's own personal practice. From time to time, the teacher might offer assistance to deepen the pose or correct alignment, but for the most part, students focus on their own needs and explore their own experience.
Yet, a wealth of practical information about our relating is available to practitioners who engage in a partner yoga process. Whether the partnering practitioners are married, committed, separated; lovers, roommates, colleagues; or simply family or friends, each can discover more about the other, at a much deeper than ordinary level.
If you've ever wanted to adjust the posture of your relationship like you adjust your own personal posture in yoga, this is the workshop for you!
Suitable for all levels of experience.
Individuals and partners welcome.
• Embrace the benefits of partner-supported postures
• Explore the mind-body connection
• Develop the spirit and connect with others

CHAKRA YOGA INTENSIVE WORKSHOP
with Kim Allcock, RYT
April 2 & 3, 2011
Saturday 10:30 a.m.-Noon: Muladara chakra asana practice
Saturday 12:30-5:30 p.m: Intro to chakra system and Chakras 1-4
Sunday 12:30-5:30 p.m: Chakras 5-7, integrating upward and downward flows
In Western society we focus on the physical body and mind while ignoring the subtle body and the spirit. In studying the chakras and how their influence manifests in the physical, psychological and subtle realms we realize that we are integrated beings.
In this workshop we will explore the development and function of the chakras as they relate to yoga practice, physical body, psychology and consciousness. We will use mantras, mudras, asanas, guided meditation, study and discussion to build understanding and connect to the energy of each chakra in turn. The final session will include a practice to integrate upward and downward flows of energy through the chakra system.
The upward journey from root to crown is transformative, and we use conscious awareness to
return that transformed energy back to manifest in the world.

Developing the practice of mindfulness can be helpful to maintaining balance between the physical body, mental body and emotional body. Most of us feel more comfortable in one or two of these areas while avoiding the other or at best minimizing it. Through the filter of mindfulness students will explore all three bodies and through acknowledgement and acceptance of our comforts and discomforts, will work with them to uncover what has always been there, equanimity and balance.
“If we can’t live outside our minds conditioning,
we are destined to live out that conditioning. -Adyeshanti
This workshop will include:
Lecture – Talk about equanimity, tools on cultivating it and the benefits of having it in your life.
Asana Practice – A mindfulness flow practice and a restorative practice.
Pranayama Technique – to assist the energy to flow more efficiently within the body and as a preparation for meditation.
Meditation Technique – Alternating sitting and walking meditations to bring awareness to the 60,000-90,000 thoughts we have on average each day and to let go of identifying with them. This helps to create a space between thoughts to experience equanimity

Sun Salutations
with Jen McClellan
Fall Equinox: Monday
Sept. 12, 2011
5:30-7:00 p.m.
Celebrate the Fall Equinox by challenging yourself to complete a Mala - 108 Sun Salutations. 108 is a very auspicious number in the yogic tradition.
The sun salutation is one of the most effective ways to learn about the vinyasa, binding the breath to the movement. “The notion of a salutation to the sun is to pay your respects and surrender to the universe. This can be taken as a metaphor to let go physically – the mind follows as you move ‘inside’ the practice.”
There will be a special crystal singing bowl savasana (relaxation) at the end.

With enlivening sound and breathplay, we break free of old taboos and find our Roar of liberation. Through profound female-centered meditation practices, we claim our inner authority and come home to our divine essential nature.
Move all your energies into fuller circulation
* Reclaim your sovereignty and sensuality
* Free your authentic voice and creativity
* Dive into your depths with awareness
* Bathe your entire being in loving attention
* Touch your sacred feminine essence
As women we must stay deeply in touch with our female life force and power ~ Shakti energy ~ which is meant to flow through us freely for health and well being on every level. When we bring consciousness to them, we discover that all our energies are an expression of the Soul.
Based on the twelve secrets from the book Meditation Secrets for Women by Camille Maurine and Dr. Lorin Roche, these integrative energy practices provide essential support for ALL women who want to deepen their inner connection and live in a greater flow of love, health, and creativity. Yoga enthusiasts, teachers, therapists, dancers, artists, healers, and others will enjoy applying these principles to their own work.. This workshop is for women who want to deepen their understanding of self-care, meditation, and movement in a way that affirms their sensuous feminine nature. These profound energy practices, breathwork, movement meditation and expression significantly heighten your vitality and creativity.

Camille Maurine started meditating in 1972, she became interested in the internal dimensions of movement, eventually teaching meditation and body awareness in the context of her dance classes. Her own inner journey led her to a profound inquiry into psychological, physical, and spiritual health, and to training in the healing arts. Her experience includes three decades of yoga, twelve years as a practitioner of Essential Integration body therapy (1977-1989), and Continuum movement since 1983. She has delved into the practices of many traditions, including Transcendental Meditation, Zen, and Tibetan Buddhism. The devoted study of Jungian depth psychology and dreamwork also richly informs her work.
